Democracy Fund is seeking an energetic, emotionally intelligent People Team Coordinator to help cultivate a values-driven culture that brings out the best in a rapidly growing, diverse staff who are dedicated to creating an open and just democracy. The People Team Coordinator will be an integral member of the Operations and People Team, reporting to, and working closely with, the Director of People to build out, strengthen, and execute a variety of HR processes.
The People Team supports Democracy Fund by finding and recruiting highly qualified staff who are aligned with our initiatives, values, and strategies. We develop and implement effective HR management and policies, as well as programs and services that contribute to our organizational and employee goals. This role sits as a hub connecting and working across the organization to support open communications, and will provide strong customer service to our internal teams and external partners. The People Team Coordinator will collaborate on building, updating, and maintaining systems and processes that are efficient and effective.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building and iterating systems, processes, and policies to better meet the needs of colleagues across the organization. Able to work independently on projects from conception to completion, the ideal candidate will be a resourceful, highly collaborative team player who excels at creative problem solving, possesses strong administrative and organizational skills, and is able to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
The People Team Coordinator will be the Democracy Fund’s primary liaison to JustWorks, a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), which administers the organization’s payroll, benefits, and other functions, and will be a key resource in the office for all staff on HR-related questions. The successful candidate will bring 2-3 years of relevant human resources experience, be highly motivated to deliver excellent work and build community, and be very adaptable as part of a growing, collaborative, and results-focused team. Excellent written and verbal skills, and a deep desire to learn and grow are required. The ideal candidate will bring some knowledge of critical HR functions, be a creative thinker, feel comfortable using various technology platforms, pay close attention to details, and be comfortable deploying data-driven analysis to inform decision-making.
